This dish is typical south Indian dish goes along with hot rice.Very simple and easy to prepare.Ideal dish for kids lunch box as it is very nutritious.
Here we go with the recipe.
Ingredients:
5-6 handfuls - finely chopped spinach
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp - finely chopped onion/shallots(optional)
1 tsp - red chilly flakes
salt to taste
1 tbsp - fresh grated coconut/coconut flakes
1 green chilly
for seasoning
1 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1 dry red chilly, slit into halves
1-2 tsp of cooking oil
1-10 curry leaves
How to Prepare ?
Ingredients:

How to Prepare ?
- Start the preparation with the seasoning.Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds , urad dal and red chilly.Fry till the mustard seed pops out , now add curry leaves, jeera and green chilly. ( Make sure that you don't burn these !! )
- Now add chopped shallots and saute for 3-4 mins.(This is optional).Add chopped spinach, turmeric powder and fry it for 2 mins with a continuous stir. Cook for 10-12 mins till the spinach cooks completely. Keep checking the pan in between and add little oil if required and saute.
- At the end add salt,red chilly flakes and grated coconut/kokos raspeln and give a nice stir.and switch off the flame
- This goes well with Rice and Rasam.
